Job Description

This role focuses on the setup and optimization of injection molding processes, supporting existing products and sustaining process engineering for over 60 injection/LSR molding machines. It involves troubleshooting material, tooling, process, and equipment issues to ensure efficient and high-quality production.

Pay: $28/hr

Shift: 2nd shift - 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Responsibilities

• Optimize injection molding setup and processes.
• Support over 60 injection/LSR molding machines with sustaining process engineering.
• Troubleshoot defects such as flash, splay, burns, and shorts.
• Handle mold changes, tooling maintenance, and start-ups.
• Execute cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
• Diagnose auxiliary equipment issues.
• Coordinate quality and productivity improvements with tooling upgrade projects.
• Utilize program management skills to meet project milestones.
• Collaborate with the Molding department to manage tooling modifications.
• Apply knowledge of thermoplastics and LSR materials.
• Utilize scientific molding techniques (RJG/eDART, DOE, SIM Studies).
• Assist Tool Room and Engineering personnel on troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain an updated project list and report on issues, corrective actions, costs, and completion dates.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Plastic Injection Molding.
• Familiarity with medical manufacturing requirements (FDA-GMP, ISO9001, ISO13485).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of thermoplastics and LSR materials.
• Experience with scientific molding techniques.

The work environment requires adherence to cleanroom protocols, including wearing a coat with a name tag, hair/beard net, and eye/ear protection. Employees must wear none-linting pants without sparkles or sequins, and refrain from wearing makeup, jewelry, nails, or polish.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Petersburg, FL.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.28/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Petersburg,FL.
