Private Equity Associate - Generalist

About the Role:

Blacklock Group is partnering with a well-established private equity firm based in Charlotte, NC to identify an Associate for its investment team. The firm focuses on investments across consumer and industrial sectors, partnering closely with management teams to drive operational improvements and long-term value creation.

The team operates in a collaborative, hands-on environment, offering significant exposure to senior leadership and portfolio company executives. This role provides the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility across the full investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain complex financial models, including LBOs, operating models, and transaction analyses
• Conduct in-depth industry research and competitive landscape assessments across consumer and industrial sectors
• Lead due diligence workstreams and coordinate with external advisors (consultants, accountants, legal)
• Prepare investment memoranda and materials for internal committees
• Support deal structuring, negotiation, and execution

Portfolio Management:

• Monitor portfolio company performance, including financials and key operating metrics
• Support management teams on strategic initiatives and operational improvements
• Assist with add-on acquisitions and exit processes

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
• Background in consumer or industrial sectors strongly preferred
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skillset
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation abilities
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
