A highly respected law firm is seeking a Private Client Services Associate Attorney to join its growing San Jose, California office. This position is ideal for attorneys who are passionate about estate planning, trust administration, wealth preservation, and advising individuals and families on complex personal, financial, business, and tax-related matters.
The successful candidate will work directly with clients on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer strategies while gaining meaningful responsibility and direct client exposure. Associates will have the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in trusts and estates, tax planning, charitable giving, and succession planning within a collaborative and supportive environment.
This position rarely becomes available at this level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities
• Draft and implement comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
• Advise clients regarding gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning strategies
• Assist with trust and estate administration matters from inception through completion
• Prepare and review estate planning and wealth transfer documentation
• Support charitable planning initiatives and philanthropic giving strategies
• Counsel clients regarding family succession planning and wealth preservation objectives
• Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, trustees, and family representatives
• Conduct legal research involving trusts, estates, fiduciary obligations, and tax matters
• Analyze complex financial and family situations to develop customized planning solutions
• Maintain strong client relationships while providing exceptional service and responsiveness
• Assist with probate and trust administration proceedings when necessary

Qualifications
• 2–4 years of estate planning, trusts and estates, or private client services experience
• Active California Bar admission
• Strong interest in family wealth planning, tax planning, and succession matters
• Excellent analytical and legal writing abilities
• Strong drafting skills involving estate planning documents
• Outstanding interpersonal and client communication skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities
