Private Client Relationship Advisor - Wealth Management

We’re seeking a Private Client Relationship Advisor on behalf of our client, a leading global investment and strategic advisory firm. Based in Boston, this senior level role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of client service, wealth management operations, and fiduciary expertise. In this client-facing position, you’ll partner with portfolio managers, advisors, and clients’ outside professionals to deliver a seamless, high-touch experience for complex, multi-generational families and family offices. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Strategic Advisory, and Operations teams to deliver a high-quality, integrated client service experience.
  • Manage all aspects of client onboarding, including custodian selection, documentation collection, account opening, account funding, online enrollment, and implementation of fee arrangements.
  • Review and interpret complex documentation related to account structures, trusts, LLCs, and FLPs.
  • Oversee communication of onboarding processes to ensure consistent updates and timely task completion.
  • Partner with the Strategic Advisory team to coordinate tax, estate planning, and fiduciary matters for clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and their outside advisors (accountants, attorneys), ensuring prompt and accurate fulfillment of requests.
  • Coordinate gifting activities, including processing cash and in-kind gifts and producing gift letters and Crummey notices.
  • Understand advisory fee calculations and ensure correct implementation of fee arrangements.
  • Mentor junior client service colleagues supporting client maintenance and transactional activities.
  • Collaborate with Client Service Advisors and Operational leadership to align client needs with processes, technologies, and products.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and continuous business improvement initiatives.
  • Attend client and prospective client meetings to represent the scope of services and ongoing work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Deep experience with complex trusts and fiduciary accounts.
  • Coursework toward or completion of the Certified Financial Planner program a plus.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and foster trust with clients and their outside advisors.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Professional maturity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive client matters.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to balance detail orientation with strategic client experience evaluation.
  • Highly organized and accurate work style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco office.
