Production & Document Services Technician

Full‑Time | On‑Site | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

A Production & Document Services Technician is needed to support high‑volume document processing, equipment operation, and general office services. This role involves handling incoming job requests, operating production and finishing equipment, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring high‑quality output. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Document Production & Equipment Operation
  • Operate digital and color production equipment in a high‑volume environment.
  • Operate finishing equipment such as cutters, inserters, laminators, and hole punchers.
  • Operate office equipment including printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production runs.
  • Sort, scan, and convert hardcopy materials into digital formats.
  • Perform basic operator maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
  • Apply asset tags to equipment and update internal records.
  • Track and coordinate equipment moves, additions, and changes.
Job Processing & Workflow Management
  • Serve as the point of contact for receiving, reviewing, and electronically logging incoming jobs.
  • Estimate, schedule, and track production jobs to meet deadlines.
  • Optimize document layouts for quality and accurate reproduction.
  • Inspect digital files for issues such as font errors, image resolution, or alignment.
  • Store and organize jobs for future reuse, including file backups.
  • Perform file and document conversions using standard software.
Administrative & Support Tasks
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing faxes; maintain logs for billing.
  • Process basic forms and update information using a computer.
  • Collect and submit meter readings.
  • Respond to equipment issues and coordinate service requests when needed.
  • Maintain reporting logs and documentation for billing and tracking.
  • Provide basic training to end users on equipment operation.
  • Assist in developing workflow improvements or templates as needed.
Mail & Distribution Support
  • Operate high‑volume folding and inserting equipment for mail preparation.
  • Support packaging and distribution tasks as required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong computer literacy and comfort with standard office applications.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, sort/filter data, and generate graphs.
  • Ability to move data between applications and embed files.
  • Ability to locate and use network‑attached devices such as shared drives and printers.
  • Ability to send/receive email, save files, and perform accurate data entry.
  • Basic math skills including division, multiplication, and percentages.
  • Strong professionalism, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor coworkers when needed.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service or operations environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post‑secondary technical training or relevant experience preferred.
  • Education verification may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.43 - $24.36/hr.
