The Principal Logistics Specialist is a high impact "builder" role situated at the intersection of Software Engineering and Supply Chain Operations, where logistics is defined by digital orchestration rather than transportation. In this capacity, you will architect and maintain the critical digital infrastructure—ranging from advanced VBA automation to complex SQL and SAP and later on S/4HANA integrations—that power our global warehousing, material enablement, and inventory control strategies. We are seeking an autonomous, code-literate professional with at least 5 years of experience (or 3 years with an advanced degree) to lead the digital transformation of our operational workflows and bridge the gap between code and the factory floor.

Location can be on-site at our Tucson, AZ or Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert for logistics data structures. You will architect solutions that bridge the gap between SAP/HANA back-ends and end-user tools using SQL and VBA.

  • Design and deploy advanced automation tools, macros, and custom applications (VBA, Python, Power Apps) to eliminate manual "dock-to-stock" data entry and improve real-time visibility.

  • Resolve complex cross-functional challenges by investigating data discrepancies within SAP tables and writing optimized SQL scripts to extract actionable insights.

  • Lead "Digital Kaizen" events, using software enhancements to achieve Lean/Six Sigma goals. Deliver robust reports backed by automated data validation.

  • Contribute to departmental KPIs by developing automated dashboards and predictive models that track operational health.

  • Own the software development lifecycle for logistics projects, from requirements gathering with stakeholders to final deployment and maintenance.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of priorrelevant experience.

  • Experience in VBA for Excel/Access, including API integrations, class modules, and UI design to automate complex logistics workflows.

  • Experience in SQL Server, including writing complex queries, joins, and stored procedures. Deep familiarity with SAP, PBI or Table structures (HANA 4.0) and SSIS.

  • Experience with Alteryx, Snowflake, or SAP Scripting to manage and transform large-scale supply chain datasets.

  • Experience in creating scalable, documented, and maintainable code within a STEM-focused environment, such as: SQL, Python, and/or VBA.

  • Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma principles to digital workflows (e.g., reducing "digital waste").

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior experience in Aerospace & Defense or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Green/ Black Belt in Six Sigma, PMP, or APICS (CSCP/CLTD) certifications.

  • Exposure to Power BI/Tableau, Python, or SAP Ariba integration.

  • Familiarity with RTX CORE or similar operational excellence frameworks.

  • Experience to translate complex technical requirements into business value for non-technical leadership and external vendors.
