Position Summary
Odyssey is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer (SME) supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate Munitions Division (AFLCMC/EBH) at Hill AFB, UT.This position supports the government in applying advanced engineering principles to the design, development, integration, and sustainment of software-intensive systems across the full acquisition lifecycle. This role involves working closely with program offices, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, mission-critical capabilities that meet performance, operational, and mission requirements.

Duties include, but not limited to: - Support engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support) - Apply software engineering principles to support system design, development, integration, and sustainment efforts - Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification for software and system-level capabilities - Perform system design, integration, and technical analysis to ensure performance and mission effectiveness - Develop and review technical documentation, including system specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports - Support technical reviews and program milestone activities (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) - Collaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance - Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance functionality, reliability, and maintainability - Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning for technical and program risks - Provide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision-making processes
