Reporting to the CEO, the Principal serves as the driver of school performance, ensuring that Friendly Academys academic and cultural model is implemented with fidelity and leads to strong, measurable outcomes. The Principal manages Deans and instructional staff, builds leadership capacity, and ensures teachers are consistently delivering high-quality instruction. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a growing school, refine the academic vision, and build the systems and culture necessary for excellence and long-term successWho You AreResults-Driven Leader: You take ownership of outcomes and ensure the school meets its academic, culture, and operational goals.Strong People Manager: You effectively manage and develop Deans and teachers, building a culture of accountability and growth.Instructional Leader: You ensure high-quality instruction is consistently delivered across classrooms and aligned to the schools academic model.Culture Champion: You foster a structured, joyful, and values-driven school environment rooted in love, community, innovation, and impact.Systems Builder: You create and maintain systems that drive consistency, efficiency, and strong execution.Collaborative Partner: You work closely with the CEO and operations team to ensure alignment and strong communication across all functions.ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team ManagementDirectly manage and develop school-based leaders and instructional staff.Build leadership capacity by coaching leaders to effectively manage and support their teams.Lead leadership team meetings focused on data, priorities, and execution.Model professional expectations and reinforce the schools mission and values.Instructional LeadershipEnsure the consistent implementation of Friendly Academys instructional model and curriculum.Oversee lesson internalization, data cycles, and progress monitoring systems.Conduct classroom observations and ensure strong feedback systems are in place.Ensure coaching and professional development translate into improved instructional practice.Drive student achievement by using data to inform decisions and interventions.Staff Development and Performance ManagementOversee staff performance through regular observations, feedback, and evaluations.Plan and support professional development aligned to school priorities.Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable for results.Foster a strong adult culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and care.School Culture and Student ExperienceEnsure consistent implementation of schoolwide behavior and culture systems.Maintain a safe, structured, and joyful environment for all students.Oversee student interventions, discipline systems, and family communication.Lead or support schoolwide events, assemblies, and traditions that build community.Operations and Execution SupportPartner with the operations team to ensure strong daily systems, including arrival, dismissal, scheduling, and coverage.Support planning and execution of testing, events, and key school initiatives.Identify and solve operational challenges that impact instruction or culture.Maintain a strong presence during key parts of the school day to ensure smooth execution.Lead the on-site execution of emergency responses, ensuring student and staff safety through established protocols while coordinating with the CEO and DOO. Family and Community EngagementBuild strong relationships with families through clear and consistent communication.Support family engagement efforts aligned to student success and retention.Represent Friendly Academy at events and within the community.At Friendly Academy, we believe that every team member plays a vital role in our student recruitment efforts.
