This Principal Project Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. Develops small to midsize product plans and budgets, performs critical analysis, pursues all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, and monitors project performance. Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with sales team, engineering project team members, and engineering management to ascertain compliance with the technical specifications, request for proposal (RFP), and statement of work (SOW).
  • Work with external customers from airlines, airframe and world class industrial design firms; Often serve as the primary technical point of contact for the customer.
  • Participate in design reviews by presenting information package, including all typical supplier document requirement list (SDRL).
  • Create new seating designs based on proven products and generate modifications to existing designs to satisfy new customer driven requirements.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion.
  • Record and document delays, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact on the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
  • Perform critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Identify and react to complex project problems and recommend solutions.
  • Liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.
  • Meet program schedules and budgets and maintain the integrated master schedules for project(s).
  • Direct building of prototypes and development hardware.
  • Create project scheduling to ensure major milestones are met.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Project planning experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Direct experience with development Designing and certification of Aerospace Interiors Systems is preferred.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Teamcenter PDM Experience.
  • Unigraphics NX Experience.
  • Ability to present to executive leadership.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMEA) principles

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
