Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – On‑site Tuesday–Thursday)

A AAA gaming studio is seeking a Principal Graphics Engineer to help shape a new, unannounced title. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining and evolving the rendering architecture and visual pipelines that deliver high‑quality, scalable player experiences across multiple platforms.

You will work closely with engineers, artists, and designers to ensure visual technology supports creative vision while meeting performance and quality standards expected of a AAA title.

• Lead the architecture and development of core rendering systems and graphics pipelines
• Define technical direction for real‑time 3D rendering, lighting, shaders, and post‑processing
• Ensure visual fidelity, performance, and scalability across platforms
• Collaborate with art and design teams to translate creative goals into technical solutions
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other engineers
• Operate effectively in a fast‑paced development environment with evolving priorities

• Extensive experience as a senior or principal‑level graphics or rendering engineer
• Strong background in real‑time 3D graphics and rendering architecture
• Professional experience working on AAA game titles or large‑scale commercial games
• Hands‑on experience with Unity and modern rendering pipelines
• Deep understanding of performance optimization and graphics debugging
• Ability to balance hands‑on development with technical leadership

This role is hybrid, requiring on‑site work in Irvine, CA three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

This is a Permanent position based out of Irvine, CA.

The pay range for this position is $146000.00 - $270000.00/yr.
