Principal Engineer (Hydraulic Pumps)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert on hydraulic axial piston variable displacement pump technology
  • Analyze internal pump mechanisms to diagnose issues and develop technical solutions
  • Interpret test data, graphs, and performance results to troubleshoot system behavior and drive improvements
  • Support current product maintenance while contributing to future R&D initiatives
  • Collaborate with test labs, supply chain, and engineering teams to validate performance and resolve issues
  • Provide technical guidance without heavy involvement in detailed CAD design—focus on concept validation and system-level thinking
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in performance, reliability, and manufacturability


Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic axial piston variable displacement pumps - critical requirement
  • Strong ability to analyze test data and performance metrics to drive engineering decisions
  • Deep understanding of hydraulic systems and pressure management (e.g., ~3,000 psi applications)
  • Proven track record of problem-solving within complex mechanical systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, lab, and supply chain teams
