Principal Electrical Engineer – Power Systems (Technical Authority)
Location: Dallas, TX - hybrid

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000
This is a high-level, hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing and delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure.
You’ll operate as the go-to subject matter expert across complex power systems, owning system architecture and guiding technical direction across multiple high-value projects.
This is not a people management role. It’s about technical ownership, client interaction, and setting engineering standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading full system design across:
- MV/LV distribution
- Substations and switchgear
- Generators and UPS systems
- Owning system architecture and technical decisions on complex projects
- Acting as the technical authority across multiple concurrent programmes
Developing and reviewing:
- Single line diagrams
- Protection and coordination studies
- Schematics and equipment layouts
- Engaging directly with clients to define scalable, resilient solutions
- Mentoring engineers and elevating technical standards
- Driving consistency and best practice across design delivery
What You’ll Need
- 15–20+ years’ experience in electrical power systems
- Deep expertise in “big power” infrastructure
Strong experience with:
- Substations
- MV/LV distribution
- Protection & coordination (SEL relays ideally)
- Proven track record delivering complex industrial or mission-critical projects
- Experience working in engineering consultancies, utilities, or EPC environments
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree beneficial)
Highly Desirable
- PE License
- Data centre or mission-critical project experience
- Experience acting as technical lead across multiple large programmes
