Job Summary
Provide high-level technical leadership in the ideation, evaluation, and advancement of ophthalmic drug delivery devices and combination products. This role combines strategic vision with practical execution while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Direct the design and development of new and enhanced medical devices to satisfy regulatory, quality, and user requirements
Supervise design verification, validation, and prototyping activities to confirm safety, effectiveness, and performance
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve timely delivery
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Guarantee adherence to global regulatory and quality standards, including design controls and risk management
Partner with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and clinical teams to define design requirements
Explore and incorporate emerging technologies and materials to drive device innovation
Qualifications
15+ years in medical device development and engineering
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering field
Deep expertise in design controls, verification/validation, and regulatory compliance
Proven leadership in mentoring teams and managing complex device projects
Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and combination product regulations
Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills
