The Impact you will have in this role:

The Principal Data Center Engineer - MEP (Associate Director) oversees and manages critical infrastructure operations at our properties. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in facilities maintenance, critical systems, and vendor management. The successful candidate will leverage their background in HVAC, UPS systems, electrical maintenance, and project management to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our critical cooling infrastructure.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day-to-day SME for DTCC's portfolio of properties, location dependent.
  • The individual will be the primary critical systems engineering SME responsible for coordinating maintenance, incident escalation, OPEX management, management of Capital Projects, identifying opportunities for improvement, etc.
  • Lead the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, UPS modules, switchgear, and emergency generators.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules for CRAH units, chill water systems, and fuel oil systems.
  • Oversee vendor management and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on low and medium voltage systems, including IR scans and load balancing.
  • Coordinate the installation and upgrade of branch circuits.
  • Utilize CMMS systems to track KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support capital projects from design through execution and turnover to operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 and 14001 standards and maintain certification.
  • Collaborate with Facility Management, Technology, and Security teams to optimize operational models.
  • Respond to emergency and corrective maintenance needs and supervise resolution efforts.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Minimum of 8 years in facilities maintenance and management, including experience in mission critical facilities.
  • Proficient in HVAC, electrical systems, fire and life safety, and PLC/IO diagnostics.
  • Experience with CMMS, BAS, and technical documentation.
  • Certified in SPCC, OSHA 10 with Arc Flash, ISO 50001/14001 preferred.
  • Strong skills in vendor management, incident management, financial management, and system integration.
