We are seeking a talented Principal Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO)
function and support and lead the delivery of numerous projects across the WSP Land team. Work on
the delivery of multiple projects and PMO initiatives within the GCC UK – Land Services PMO team,
supporting UK-based portfolios. The role involves overseeing project delivery, ensuring objectives are
clearly defined, appropriately resourced, and achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.
You will ensure projects are delivered in alignment with client strategic objectives and WSP’s business
goals, embedding governance, sustainability, and digital innovation across all PMO initiatives.
 

We support high-profile infrastructure projects across the Energy, Water, Road, Rail and Local Authority
sectors such as East West Rail, Heathrow, as well as HS2 and many other high-profile infrastructure
development schemes in GB. Many of our Energy projects are critical for the deployment of renewable
energy, helping Ireland and the UK economies to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions.

• Be part of the Land project management team in India (Bengaluru / Noida), work in close
collaboration with the UK Land team, delivering high-profile projects for private and public
sector clients across the UK. Contribute towards growing our Land discipline project
management activities within our India-based team, working in close collaboration with
colleagues in the UK to deliver high-quality, integrated outcomes.
• In this role, as a Principal Project Manager in the Land Services discipline, your goal will be
delivery or be leading full project lifecycle of complex projects with significant scope, risk and
stakeholder interfaces ensuring compliance with client and contractual obligations.
• Management of the project scope and change control process.
• Management and review of project programme timelines including monitoring of critical path,
resource pinch points, delivery of milestones, strategy, reporting internally and to the client,
including setting standards and procedures.
• Implement scheduling controls to ensure the project is appropriately resourced to meet the
demands of the programme. Work with disciplines to ensure collaborative updates and accurate
resource allocation to ensure alignment between forecasts and actuals.
• Lead / support in interface with client team to provide regular updates and manage
expectations.
• Management of project budget, forecasting and financial performance and associated reporting
to optimise commercial outcomes.
• Forecasting, cost to complete and EVM reporting to client (using client specified method and
processes where specified), to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective
actions.
• Management of project risks and opportunities, embedding mitigations into cost and
programme decisions in line with client and business expectations. Overall management of
project controls using both WSP and client systems.
• Ensure that quality procedures are being adhered to working closely with technical delivery
teams.
• Deliver information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a
period-by-period basis. Identification of process improvements that would have positive effects
on delivery.

• Manage a delivery team of technical specialists. Monitor costs and manpower on a weekly
basis ensuring that actuals are within budget and charged to the correct job number.
• Ensure safety, health and wellbeing of the project team.
• Should be able to lead and assist with estimates and plans for bid/tenders.
• Management of contracts and supplier / subcontractors.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of junior project and assistant project managers
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including
clients, to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
• Facilitate cross-regional and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Supporting the Service Line Director / Regional leads and HOD/TL to pursue new work winning
opportunities in line with WSPs Growth Strategy as appropriate.
Resource & Talent Management
• Support HOD / Team Leader in resource allocation, workload management, and succession
planning, team’s performance and development requirements; Liaise with UK and GCC teams
to manage workflows and expectations. Assist in resource planning and risk management.
• Identifies skill gaps and implement training, mentoring, and development programs.
• Promotes diversity, inclusion, and talent pipeline development.
Governance & Reporting
• Defines and enforce communication protocols and reporting standards.
• Review and ensure the quality of deliverables from junior staff.
• Deliver regular performance reviews and reports to the TL GCC.
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies;
• Any other task assigned by HoD/ Team Leader.

Skills & Competencies
• Experience in leading project management of multidisciplinary large scale infrastructure
projects including managing cross-functional teams and engagement with engineering
disciplines. Understanding of project management, project controls and procedures normally
associated with a major integrated infrastructure project.
• Understanding contracts and experience of NEC contracts
• Evidence of experience within regulated industries
• Experience in portfolio or PMO leadership, with strong financial management skills including
earned value management.
• Experience in a consultancy environment with good customer relationship and stakeholder
management skills.

• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and digital project management tools.
• Proven experience in line management, including mentoring and developing team members,
managing performance, and ensuring effective communication within the team.
• Ability to coordinate the submission of highly detailed deliverables to predetermined deadlines

processes, to support technical delivery.
