Pretreatment Technician (Interceptor Inspections)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Pretreatment Technician. This position will be primarily responsible for:
  • Conducting field inspections of commercial users to ensure compliance with District Service Rules.
  • Determining compliance with District regulations for Fats, Oils, and Grease.
  • Demonstrating good organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Demonstrating effective written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrating good driving skills and orientation within the District Service Area.
  • Performing tasks with outdoor weather exposure including lifting and carrying equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College level course work in chemistry, biology or a related field preferred.
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in wastewater treatment, collection, operations, laboratory field sampling, or environmental inspections or related regulatory field.
  • Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Possess a valid Nevada Class [C] driver's license at time of application.
  • Possess or be able to obtain Nevada Water Environment Association Industrial Wastewater Inspector Grade I certification within one (1) year from the date of hire.
  • Reciprocity: Employees with out-of-state certifications for any of the above may seek Nevada certification through reciprocity application within one (1) from date of hire.
Background Investigation:
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
  • Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Medical Examination:
  • Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
