Job Description

The Press Operator monitors and supports boiler systems from a control room to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operation. This role focuses on observing system screens and data points, maintaining proper temperatures, and performing light mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly in a clean, climate-controlled food manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor boiler systems from the control room to ensure they meet specific data points, operating parameters, and temperature requirements.
  • Continuously observe screens and system indicators to identify any irregularities or potential issues in boiler performance.
  • Perform light troubleshooting on machines and equipment when issues arise to minimize downtime.
  • Grease bearings and perform basic lubrication tasks to maintain equipment reliability and extend component life.
  • Change filters and belts on machinery as part of routine preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct and document quality checks to confirm that equipment and processes meet established standards.
  • Respond promptly to alarms or system notifications and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintenance personnel to report issues and support more complex repairs as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around boilers and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food manufacturing facility standards.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical inclination with the ability to understand how machines and mechanical systems operate.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving equipment issues.
  • Ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks such as changing filters, belts, and greasing bearings.
  • Capacity to monitor boiler operation and interpret data from control screens and system indicators.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate quality checks and adherence to operating parameters.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures while working around boilers and mechanical equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working around boilers or boiler control systems is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing environments is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a control room setting while coordinating with production and maintenance teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Prairie, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
