Press Machine Operator

Aerotek
Richmond, VA

Printing Press Operator

If you’re an experienced press operator—or someone with strong mechanical aptitude looking to grow—this is a chance to join a stable, well-established printing company where employees are treated like people, not numbers. You’ll work four 10-hour shifts, enjoy predictable scheduling with no on‑call work, and have real opportunities to cross-train and build your skills in a relaxed, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a hands-on role in producing high-quality printed materials using web and variable cut-off printing presses. This is a fast-paced, steady production environment where quality, consistency, and teamwork matter.

  • Set up and operate multiple web printing presses for daily production
  • Configure press settings for job specs, including size, color, and cut-off requirements
  • Monitor print runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Mix inks and manage color density and registration throughout production
  • Inspect printed materials and quickly correct defects or inconsistencies
  • Perform routine cleaning, upkeep, and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
  • Accurately document production and maintain supply inventory
  • Work closely with teammates to keep workflow running smoothly
  • Cross-train on additional machines and departments to expand your skillset
What We’re Looking For
  • Hands-on experience operating printing presses in a manufacturing setting or strong mechanical aptitude with machine operation
  • Comfortable working with complex equipment and moving parts
  • Experience with press setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance
  • Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and stay focused in a production environment
  • Team player with reliable attendance and strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, cross-train, and grow long-term with the company

Bonus points for experience with:

  • Web presses or variable cut-off presses
  • Bindery equipment or post-press operations
  • High-volume manufacturing environments
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Day Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Tuesday–Friday)
  • Night Shift: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Tuesday–Friday)
  • Four-day work week = long weekends every week
  • Clean, organized manufacturing floor with multiple presses running
  • Small, close-knit team with hands-on training
  • No steel-toed boots required
  • No on-call expectations—your time off stays yours
Why You’ll Like Working Here
  • Long-standing, stable printing company with decades of success
  • Supportive leadership and a relaxed, respectful culture
  • Consistent workload and predictable schedule
  • Cross-training opportunities to increase your value and versatility
  • A place where good operators are appreciated and where you can build a long-term career, not just fill a shift
