Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Job Description

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating press brakes to bend and form sheet metal as specified by blueprints, programs, layouts, and work instructions. The role requires setting up and running complex bend and forming operations on Cincinnati and Amada Press Brakes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run complex bend and forming operations on Cincinnati and Amada Press Brakes.
  • Determine the appropriate tooling combination to achieve the required dimensions on a sheet metal part.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Operate other manufacturing equipment and machines as needed, such as rolls, overhead cranes, Whitney, and various hand tools.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to relevant Quality and Safety programs (e.g. ISO-9001).
Essential Skills
  • Experience with Shear and Press Brake operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficiency in operating brake press machines and other related equipment.
  • Experience with press brake/bending and punch press operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of Press Brake Operator experience.
  • Capability to read and understand blueprints independently.
  • Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently according to company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with frequent bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to use a tape measure, rule, and square.

Work Environment

The facility is clean and well organized, providing a conducive environment for efficient operations. The shop operates from 6am to 2:30pm, with potential opportunities for overtime. Employees are expected to wear appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
