Prep Cook

Description

Georgetown Market has an immediate opening for a full- or part-time Prep Cook in the Eatery. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and of a high quality.
• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
• Occasionally serve food.
• Function well in a fast-paced, busy environment as part of a team.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes.
• Handle and store ingredients and food.
• Must maintain all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity of health and safety guidelines in a kitchen.
• Up to 6 months related work experience.
• Good communication skills.
