Do you love working with children and being outdoors? Join our team as a Preschool Teacher and help young learners explore, discover, and grow in a unique nature-based setting!
As a Preschool Teacher, you’ll work collaboratively with the Preschool Director and fellow staff to create meaningful learning experiences in both indoor classrooms and outdoor environments. From guided hikes and nature play to hands-on activities, you’ll inspire curiosity and support developmental milestones in a caring, supportive way.
Starting at $15.00 per hour depending on position and qualifications; 5 to 29 hours per week during school year (mid-August to May) with an opportunity for summer hours. Days and time to be determined based on staff availability and need.
What You’ll Do:
Promote awareness of our natural environment through animals, plants, and seasonal changes.
Implement curriculum and maintain classroom routines.
Supervise and engage with children during hikes, outdoor play, and classroom activities.
Plan and carry out the activities, study units, maintain classroom routines and substitute if needed.
Provide feedback on children’s needs, interests, and progress to inform curriculum planning.
Document learning through observation notes and photos.
Build positive relationships with program participants and their families.
Provide feedback for conferences and newsletters.
Spend up to two hours outdoors daily in all weather conditions.
Ensure that the preschool program is conducted in a friendly, warm, and clean environment.
Collaborate with staff, attend meetings, and complete professional development trainings.
CPR, First Aid, Health and Safety training Early Learning Guidelines are required.
Attend professional development trainings and classroom meetings
Assist with Department activities and special events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma/GED and one of the following:
1500 verified hours of experience in childcare/teaching experience or,
The willingness to obtain 45 hours of approved training within 6 months of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
CDA, Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field.
Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
