Verification/Validation Engineer

Role Description:

Candidate will work on wearable devices, defining power measurement methodologies and bringing up power validation from early proof-of-concept through mass production. Candidate will implement validation infrastructure to support automation of power measurements and ensure the product meets power KPIs. Candidate will collaborate with Power and Performance architecture and cross-functional software, firmware, and hardware teams to debug power issues and validate power subsystems from concept to OK2Ship phase.


Job Responsibilities:

Validate and characterize power subsystems from early proof-of-concept to mass production

  • Bring up, debug, and validate power circuitry on prototype hardware
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for power measurement and testing
  • Execute test cases related to power validation
  • Capture power consumption data under different use cases
  • Report issues in bug tracking systems and debug with hardware and software teams
  • Support root cause analysis for power, SoC/Memory, and other components
  • Maintain and improve validation test reports, plans, and test instructions
  • Debug power issues with cross-functional software, firmware, and hardware teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience validating power subsystems for consumer devices
  • Working knowledge of Bucks, Boost, LDOs, Load Switches, Fuel Gauge, SoC power, etc.
  • Basic understanding of Android OS, Linux kernel, and SoC power architecture
  • Familiarity with communication protocols — I2C, SPI, UART
  • Experience defining validation plans for power subsystems
  • Experience capturing power consumption data under different use cases
  • Experience using lab equipment (multimeters, power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, data acquisition units)
  • 3+ years of experience writing scripts in Python/LabView
