Power Design Engineer (Power / Controls / Testing)

Location: Hybrid | Philadelphia Navy Yard, PA


Join a team supporting mission-critical naval platforms where your expertise in power systems, controls, and testing directly impacts national defense.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and analyze power systems for advanced naval platforms
  • Develop control logic and algorithms for power systems
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation
  • Work with:
  • Rectifiers, inverters, AC/DC converters
  • Transformers, relays, UPS systems
  • IGBTs and harmonic filters
  • Support systems across office, lab, and shipboard environments


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or MS EE)
  • 3+ years of experience in: Power Electronics / Power Systems, Controls or Testing
  • Hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following:
  • Power converters (AC-AC, DC-DC, etc.)
  • Transformers, relays, UPS
  • IGBTs, harmonic filters


U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret Clearance

Ability to work onsite 3 days/week (Tuesday through Thursday)


Nice to Have

  • Navy or Shipboard experience
  • PLC or HMI Programming
  • MATLAB or Simulink
