JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Department of Ophthalmology seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct mentored research focused on understanding mechanisms that contribute to glaucoma-related optic nerve/retinal injury and developing translational approaches to assess and preserve visual function. This environment supports interdisciplinary collaboration spanning vision science, quantitative imaging, and computational methods, consistent with institute-wide efforts in glaucoma research and AI-enabled approaches to ocular disease assessment. Under the direction of research faculty in ophthalmology, this position works to better understand the pathology of retinal degenerative diseases using in-vitro and in-vivo models. This is completed through the analysis of tissue structure, the generation of new databases, and the mining of existing databases.
