POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER
A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Philipp Scherer [Philipp Scherer, Ph.D. - Faculty Profile - UT Southwestern], in the Touchstone Diabetes Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center to identify the mechanisms of endotrophin (ETP) biogenesis, define the process of ETP-mediated signaling in fibro-inflammation and tumor progression and develop therapeutic strategies to counteract fibroinflammatory pathways. Our laboratory [Scherer Lab | Touchstone Diabetes Center.org] has several exciting projects related to the different levels of adipocyte physiology focusing on the identification and physiological characterization of adipocyte-specific gene products and the elucidation of interorgan crosstalk in the context of the cardiorenal metabolic syndrome.
Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experience in physiology, immunometabolism and adipose tissue biology leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended.
