Postdoctoral Researcher

Mass General Brigham
Boston, MA

We are recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our spatial proteomics laboratory located at the Broad Institute, where we apply mass spectrometry-based spatial proteomics to human skin disease.

Position available from June 2026

Who we are

Our lab addresses fundamental questions in human skin disease, with recent publications in Nature and Nature Methods, including the discovery of a JAK inhibitor-based treatment for a lethal skin disease. We aim to bridge the gap between molecular discovery and clinical translation, and offer access to patient cohorts at MGH, our own state-of-the-art proteomics platform, and the scientific environment of the Broad Institute.

What we offer

  • A research program designed for high-impact publications at the interface of proteomics and translational medicine, for real-world clinical impact
  • Expertise in Deep Visual Proteomics (DVP)
  • A dedicated Orbitrap Astral Zoom platform and full proteomics infrastructure
  • Access to deeply phenotyped patient cohorts
  • The intellectual environment of the Broad Institute and Harvard Medical School
  • Mentorship toward an independent scientific career

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is a hands-on mass spectrometrist with:

  • A PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, proteomics, or a related field
  • Deep practical experience operating and optimizing modern mass spectrometers and LC-MS workflows (3+ years)
  • Hands-on experience with proteomics sample preparation, including low-input or FFPE tissue workflows
  • First-author publications and a genuine curiosity about biology, with a track record of technical innovation: you have built, improved, or solved something others had not
  • Comfort with data analysis scripting (Python or R)
  • The drive to push limits in a clinically meaningful direction
  • Excellent written and spoken English

How to apply

Please include a CV, a brief statement of your research interests & technical background (half page), and contact information for two referees.
