POS Engineer

Position: POS Engineer

Compensation: $60 - 74 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Canton, Massachusetts

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled POS Engineer to join their team!

This role involves designing and evaluating next-generation POS hardware and edge computing architecture in a high-volume Quick Service Restaurant environment. The position is onsite at a support center, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large-scale project focused on future-proofing technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Evaluate current POS hardware and deployment models
• Design edge-based architectures for seamless offline operations
• Assess hardware and OS choices for future growth
• Deliver architecture recommendations and tradeoff analysis
• Define workload locations: POS endpoint vs store edge vs cloud

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5 years high volume POS engineering experience
• 3 years edge computing in large scale environment
• 5 years POS hardware experience
• 1 year Oracle Symphony & Oracle Res experience
• Experience with enterprise POS systems in QSR

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with NCR Hardware
• OS and Imaging experience
• Retail technology experience
• Containerized workloads at the edge
• PCI boundary and payment isolation experience
