About the Role
Superior Industrial Maintenance is looking for a Polyurea Spray Painter to assist on various jobs that span the U.S. A polyurea spray painter is responsible for applying liquid polyurea coatings to various surfaces using specialized spray equipment, requiring precise application techniques to create a durable, waterproof barrier [...]
- Surface preparation: Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces to be coated, including removing debris, rust, and moisture, ensuring optimal adhesion of the polyurea.
• Mixing polyurea components: Accurately mix the polyurea resin and curing agent according to specified ratios to achieve the desired consistency and properties.
• Spray application: Operate a specialized spray gun to apply the polyurea coating evenly and consistently on the designated surface, following project specifications and maintaining proper spray patterns.
• Quality control: Monitor the application process to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and curing time, identifying and addressing any imperfections.
• Equipment maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, and other equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
• Safety compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols related to handling chemicals, wearing protective gear, and working in confined spaces. - Follows and reviews all safety operating protocol outlined by Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman on the job.
- Applies coatings to surfaces including concrete floors, ceilings, and other surfaces
Requirements
- Technical knowledge: Understanding of polyurea chemistry, its application methods, and factors affecting its performance.
• Spray painting skills: Proficiency in operating specialized spray equipment with precision and consistency.
• Attention to detail: Ability to carefully inspect surfaces and ensure even coating application without defects. - Physical endurance: Capability to work in various positions and weather conditions while handling heavy equipment.
- Problem-solving abilities: Ability to identify and address any issues arising during the application process.
- Work environments: Industrial construction sites, Roofing projects, Tank lining applications, and Waterproofing projects.
- OSHA 10 certification or ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within first week of start date (company paid).
- Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Able to kneel, crouch, bend over, and stand for more than 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to communicate through both written and verbal communication.
- 1-2 years experience with coatings or in the construction industry.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and work weekends/holidays.
