AgencyMarketingStatement

ONDCP's mission is to develop, implement and sustain the President's agenda regarding trafficking and use of illicit drugs and misuse of prescription drugs through its National Drug Control Strategy (NDCS). ONDCP leads and coordinates the nation's drug policy so that it improves the health and lives of the American people. ONDCP is responsible for the development and implementation of the National Drug Control Strategy and Budget. ONDCP coordinates across multiple federal agencies and oversees billions of dollars as part of a whole-of-government approach to addressing addiction and the overdose epidemic. This opportunity would benefit the detailee in several ways: They would have a firsthand view of how the nation's drug policy, National Drug Control Strategy and National Drug Control Budget are developed, implemented, reassessed and revised-this is policy that not only has national scope, but international scope as well, dictating how the United States implements drug interdiction efforts, as well as demand reduction activities. Further, they would get exposure to a wide variety of budget, performance, and policy areas that have a direct impact on programs and initiatives that literally save lives and aim to stem the nation's ongoing opioid epidemic. You will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in project management and stakeholder engagement and management as you develop and present expert level guidance related to budget and performance management.
