Job Title: CNC Plasma Operator

Position Summary

The CNC Plasma Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce sheet metal components in accordance with engineering specifications and production requirements. This role supports daily fabrication operations by ensuring accurate cutting, maintaining equipment performance, and upholding quality and safety standards within a growing fabrication shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting tables to process sheet metal components accurately and efficiently
  • Load, secure, and unload metal sheets using safe material handling practices
  • Run CNC programs utilizing G and M codes, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper machine operation and precision
  • Monitor cutting operations to verify dimensional accuracy and overall product quality
  • Operate additional fabrication equipment as required, including shears, drill presses, lasers, burners, and burn tables
  • Perform routine operational checks and assist with basic preventive maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in job training to support skill development and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with sheet metal in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC or sheet metal machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret G and M codes for CNC machine operation
  • Experience operating a CNC plasma table or similar cutting equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of machine operation best practices
  • Ability to safely handle metal materials and perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with plating processes in a metal fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment such as shears, drill presses, lasers, burners, and burn tables
  • Willingness to complete hands-on training to learn advanced machine setup and expand technical capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to shop procedures

Work Environment

The position is based in a production-oriented fabrication shop specializing in sheet metal work. The facility is heated and equipped with mobile exhaust units to support air quality. The role involves daily interaction with CNC plasma tables and other fabrication machinery and requires hands-on work with metal materials.

This is a Permanent position based out of Somerset, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
