Plant Operator

We are seeking a RNG Plant Operator to support the operation and maintenance of a Renewable Natural Gas facility in Kentucky. This role will play a key part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance while supporting both the RNG processing facility and landfill gas collection system operations.

Our client is a nationally recognized waste management and environmental services company operating landfill gas and RNG facilities across the U.S. This is an opportunity to join a growing operation and support RNG production and landfill gas-to-energy systems within a critical infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, adjust, and operate RNG processing equipment and landfill gas collection systems to maximize plant performance and gas production
• Perform daily walkthroughs and support the safe and efficient operation of plant and field equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on compressors, pumps, blowers, filters, valves, and related gas processing equipment
• Support landfill gas collection system activities including troubleshooting vacuum loss, air intrusion, and gas quality issues
• Perform repairs and maintenance on HDPE piping systems, seals, gaskets, hatches, and related field equipment
• Rebuild and maintain air-operated sump pumps used within the landfill gas collection system
• Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, manlifts, skid steers, and mini-excavators
• Monitor equipment performance and identify operational or mechanical issues in real time
• Adhere to all safety procedures and support compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and operational regulations
• Support on-call operations coverage on a rotating basis, including nights and weekends when scheduled

Qualifications and Preferred Background:

• 3+ years of experience within industrial operations, landfill gas, gas processing, RNG, wastewater, chemical processing, or similar industrial environments
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience across industrial equipment and rotating machinery
• Experience working with compressors, pumps, valves, filters, piping systems, and gas processing equipment
• Familiarity with landfill gas collection systems or related field operations is highly preferred
• Experience troubleshooting gas quality, vacuum systems, or air intrusion issues is a plus
• Hands-on experience with HDPE piping repair, welding, or related piping systems is preferred
• Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, mini-excavators, and manlifts
