Position Overview
The Plant Manager will have overall accountability for the performance and strategic direction of our CMRF site in the U.S. This leader will drive the successful launch of the facility, including site readiness, equipment installation, organizational structure, and ramp to full production in partnership with the core project team.
Beyond start up, the plant manager will oversee all day-to-day operations and long-term planning to ensure sustained operational excellence, safety and profitability. This role is responsible for setting and executing a comprehensive business strategy aligned with corporate objectives, with a strong emphasis on financial performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and talent development. The Plant Manager must operate with a long-term mindset, consistently evaluating decisions through a strategic lens to ensure continued success 5+ years into the future. Functional responsibilities span across Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, and Financial Performance. The Plant Manager will foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance at all levels of the organization. Every aspect of the business unit’s day-to-day operation is a concern of the plant manager. This role must be willing to get familiar and competent in all aspects of business including technical and industrial plant process depth.
Responsibilities
- Overall budget responsibility and setting strategic direction for operations, driving profitability through effective cost management, resource utilization work force engagement.
- Collaboration with all levels of the organization to develop and execute annual operating plans.
- Effective and consistent communication of KPI performance and action planning to drive improvements.
- Develop and lead a plant operating rhythm and KPI’s including daily Gemba walk to monitor and meet daily plant objectives
- Develop long-range outlook and actions to prepare the operation for the future relative to potential plant expansions, conversions, equipment needs, facilities and maintenance.
- Manage materials and control plant spending by monitoring KPI’s for production requirements, overtime hours, and scrap/waste material and utilize lean processes to improve inefficiencies within the plant.
- Drive continuous improvement in the plant sponsoring the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools and achieve and sustain maturity levels in our Manufacturing System Model.
- Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, quality, and operations HPT teams to meet on-time fulfillment targets and internal and external quality goals.
- Develop a culture of safety, ensuring communication of safety priorities, and championing process improvements to eliminate preventable workplace incidents.
- Partner with HR leader to build and maintain healthy working relationships with employees and leadership

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required; Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering preferred, MBA preferred
- Minimum 15 years working in operations management experience in a multi-site high-volume, complex, discrete manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years of experience in plant leadership required, experience leading multi-plant operations desired.
- Proven ability to lead and drive continuous improvement and predictive maintenance management
- Established knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards
- Experience working with plastics and poly extrusion is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear and concise information to varied levels within the organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
- Proficiency in a Microsoft suite operating environment, including e-mail and Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
- Travel required
