The Network Manager position will work as an integral part of a global team that is responsible for design, configuring, testing, installing, , and supporting networks related to the Ovation control system. Responsibilities will include managing the design, implementation, operation, and security of the Ovation network infrastructure for industrial control systems.  This role ensures the availability, performance, and protection of Ovations networks and systems. You will also provide technical leadership, oversee incident response, and collaborate with Technology and business stakeholders to support organizational objectives.

Ovation is a world leader in Power generation and water treatment facilities with decades of proven experience.    The network supporting the Ovation DCS is connected to other networks, systems, and devices, including other industrial control systems, cyber security monitoring systems, plant data historians for performance analysis, remote access locations and other site-specific assets as required.  

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Network Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain Ovation network architecture. Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of network services. Manage network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems. Oversee network monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization. 
  • Conduct research and development into emerging network technologies and incorporate these as best practices into Emerson standard network solutions. Development of router and switch configurations. Develop plans to test designs, configurations, and equipment compatibility. 
  • Develop, implement, and enforce network and information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Work with software developers to automate production of configurations.  Document configurations and equipment installation procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop network staff. Manage project planning, prioritization, and execution for network initiatives. Manage the network lab and all equipment in the lab.
  • Develop and manage budgets for network and technologies. Ensure cost-effective solutions and lifecycle management of infrastructure assets.  Evaluate, select, and manage vendors and service providers.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in networking or industrial communications, including experience in managing people.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking and security technologies. 
  • Proven experience leading projects or teams in an OT or security environment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, secure communication methods, encryption, PKI, and network protocols including STP, RSTP, EIGRP etc.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience with Cisco products
  • Familiarity with industrial systems, including power generation, boiler, turbine systems, solar, nuclear and wind systems and water treatment systems.
  • Knowledge of datalink protocols and SCADA systems
  • Familiarity with air gapped systems
  • Knowledge of network technology for industrial systems, including REP, PTP, PRP, Real Time Ethernet
  • Technology certifications, including CCNP or equivalent is a plus.
