Who We Are: The Planet Blue Ambassador Program is a sustainability engagement program dedicated to educating the campus community about eco-friendly practices and connecting them to tangible learning opportunities on and off-campus. This program is a part of university wide commitment to carbon neutrality and is one of the only programs on-campus that spans across all three campuses. As part of the Planet Blue Ambassador team you will be interacting with sustainability staff from UM-Dearborn and UM-Ann Arbor.
Job Summary: The student(s) selected for this position will help support the Planet Blue Ambassador (PBA) program at the University of Michigan-Flint. The PBA program is the entry point to sustainability at UM-Flint and beyond. The goal of this program is to empower individuals with the information and resources needed to live, work, and learn sustainably at UM-Flint. The term for this position is May 2026 - August 2026 with the potential for extension after evaluation by supervisor. Students should be interested in managing projects for PBA sustainability education and training.
Responsibilities:
- Research for specialized trainings intended to educate people of sustainable practices within their major/field of study/department/unit.
- Format training content slides.
- Update online Canvas training to reflect up-to-date information on initiatives, upcoming events, and current resources.
- Provide outreach and assist in development of helpful signage and educational opportunities related to sustainability.
- Track relevant metrics that will contribute to the Planet Blue Ambassador program's assessment and continued progress.
- Train groups.
- Operate and update on Campus Connections.
- Update PBA-applicable webpage draft documents to reflect current PBA resources and offerings.
- Contribute relevant updates to the newsletter when needed.
- Send emails on behalf of [email protected].
Required Qualifications: Must be a current UM-Flint student.
