Job Summary

The Pipefitter Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and performing the daily activities of pipefitting crews on commercial, industrial, or construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead pipefitting crews on job sites
  • Plan, assign, and oversee daily work activities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
  • Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, etc.)
  • Ensure work complies with all safety regulations, codes, and company procedures
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and other trades
  • Monitor productivity, quality of workmanship, and job progress
  • Identify material, tool, and equipment needs; coordinate deliveries
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate pipefitter personnel
  • Enforce job-site safety, conduct toolbox talks, and report incidents
  • Inspect completed work and resolve issues or deficiencies
  • Maintain daily reports, timesheets, and job documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent experience
  • Minimum [X] years of pipefitting experience, with [X] years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, fittings, valves, and supports
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Solid understanding of safety standards (OSHA or equivalent)
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in industrial, construction, and outdoor environments
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
  • NCCER or equivalent certification
  • Experience with welding coordination (TIG, MIG, Stick)
  • Experience in industrial plants, refineries, power plants, or large commercial projects
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.88 - $38.88/hr.
