Pipe Assembler & Installer – 2nd Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pipe Assembler & Installer to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble, install, and test piping systems to ensure performance, safety, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, attention to detail, and efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately read and measure using a tape measure to 1/8‑inch precision
  • Follow verbal and written instructions with consistency and attention to detail
  • Utilize hand tools safely and effectively
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes using a hydraulic pipe bender
  • Assemble and install metal and non‑metal piping systems, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic
  • Join pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented connections
  • Perform system pressure tests by increasing pressure and monitoring gauges to identify leaks
  • Safely operate acetylene and oxygen torch equipment
  • Cross‑train and support multiple manufacturing functions, including assembly, paint, wire, and weld departments
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs as required
  • Read and interpret layout drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and piping diagrams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production goals
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong ability to read a tape measure to 1/8‑inch accuracy
  • Proven ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently
  • Hands‑on experience with hand tools and piping equipment
  • Experience cutting, threading, and bending pipe materials
  • Knowledge of piping installation methods and joint types
  • Experience using acetylene and oxygen torch systems
Additional Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of piping or pipe‑fitting experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Work Environment

This position is located in the Manufacturing – Piping Department within a large production facility in Frederick, MD. The work environment includes an assembly‑line setting with dedicated benches and stations for assembly, piping, welding, and troubleshooting.

Employees may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical parts
  • High temperatures
  • Fumes or airborne particles
  • Wet or humid conditions
  • Elevated work areas, vibration, or outside weather conditions

The noise level in the facility is typically loud, and adherence to all safety protocols is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
