Pilot Plant Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Description

The Operations Technologist role involves autonomously setting up, completing sanitation, and running equipment for trials. This role requires strong customer service skills to support various platforms, with a focus on the Cereal platform. The position involves occasional heavy lifting and setting up pilot plants using hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute and document analytical tests, panels, and minor experiments.
• Procure and manage materials; manage and maintain pilot plant spaces.
• Perform basic equipment setup, tear down, and sanitation.
• Safely operate large equipment, including mixers, valves, and pumps.
• Understand food safety requirements and perform risk assessments.
• Assist the Product Development team in creating food products on a production line.
• Help determine the production setup, verify finished products, and manage production setup changes during trials.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of relatable experience in production, machine operation, or warehouse roles.
• Experience in food production is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate large equipment and perform risk assessments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 2-Year Science Degree or 4-year Science Degree with exposure to food science, dairy science, nutrition, or related coursework.
• Military experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is for a 2nd shift (2pm-10pm Mon-Fri) with occasional weekend work in a Pilot Plant Production environment. The environment includes working with food product developers, test kitchen staff, and production staff. The job requires heavy lifting and manual work, with a focus on sanitation before and after runs. You will team up with Food Scientists to create new food products and test variables. The role requires wearing protective clothing and equipment and involves working in various temperature conditions. Adherence to safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Golden Valley, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Golden Valley,MN.
