Physician Assistants at LCMC Health are hired into a variety of specialized clinical areas, including:

  • Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)
  • Neurocritical Care
  • Trauma Intensive Care Unit (Trauma ICU)
  • PA First Assist (Surgical Services)
  • Hematology/Oncology
  • General Cardiology
  • Transplant Services
  • Pediatric Hospital (Manning Family Children's)

Opportunities may vary by location and experience, with structured onboarding and specialty-specific training provided.

Shift may vary from 12 hour

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive patient care in collaboration with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for PAs who thrive in team-based, fast-paced clinical environments and are committed to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed patient assessments and evaluations
  • Manage acute and complex conditions within scope of practice
  • Assist in surgical procedures as a First Assist (as applicable)
  • Order, interpret, and document diagnostic studies
  • Develop and execute treatment and care plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with protocols
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current or eligible Louisiana PA license
  • NCCPA certification required
  • BLS from American Heart Association required (ACLS preferred or required based on specialty)
  • ICU, surgical, or specialty experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
  • DEA Registration or eligible
