Hoag Health, top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant in General Surgery to join our growing team! We are seeking research- and mission-oriented Physician Assistants dedicated to patient care. This would be a per diem role providing inpatient coverage at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA.

Details:

  • Schedule: Weekend coverage needed
  • Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • Location: Newport Beach, CA
  • Team: General Surgeons, HPB Surgeons, GI Physicians and other specialists within Hoag Health. Hoag also employs several General Surgery Physician Assistants
  • Duties: Patient rounds, collaboration and communication with provider on service as well as nursing staff to perform patient care, set up follow up for patients upon discharge or post operatively


Requirements:

  • Completion of a Physician Assistant program from an ACGME accredited program in surgery is required
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical PA
  • Must have or be eligible for California State Physician Assistant licensure
  • Well versed in the surgical and medical management of general surgery procedures and conditions
  • A passion for providing excellent clinical care and excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative / team-oriented environment are a must.
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Hoag Hospital
