Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Phlebotomist I to join our Laboratory Medicine team on a per diem basis. As a Phlebotomist I, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare system by collecting and processing blood samples for diagnostic testing. This position is located in Palm Bay, Florida in beautiful Brevard County.


Key Responsibilities:

- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages

- Properly label and process blood samples for testing

- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimens collected

- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members

- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed

- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program

- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting

- Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment

- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills


Additional Parameters:

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred

- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
