Internship Details
- Dates: May 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
- Location: San Angelo, TX
- Community-based specialty pharmacy (not a big-box retail environment)
- Housing provided by Shannon Medical Center (if needed)
- Paid summer internship
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Specialty Pharmacist Intern, you’ll play a meaningful role in patient care while gaining valuable real-world experience:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely
- Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service—both in person and over the phone
- Support patients with empathy, helping them navigate questions and concerns with confidence
- Develop knowledge in specialty disease states (gastroenterology focus)
- Accurately enter patient, medication, billing, and sales data into pharmacy systems
- Contribute to team success and continuous improvement initiatives
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Active Registered Pharmacist Intern license (Texas State Board of Pharmacy)
- Accepted into or currently enrolled in an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred
- One (1) to three (3) years of relevant pharmacy or healthcare experience
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Moderately active role requiring standing, walking, and movement throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Ability to distinguish colors and shapes
