How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve actual or potential drug-related problems
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when clinically appropriate
  • Compound and dispense medications to ensure accurate and safe delivery to patients
  • Provide drug information and education to both medical staff and patients
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other clinicians to support and coordinate patient care
  • Deliver patient counseling as required
  • Oversee and guide technical personnel involved in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies
  • Support academic initiatives, including serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students
  • Float as needed to provide coverage for pharmacy operations
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, carrying an on-call phone and remaining available for pharmacy needs during assigned periods
  • Work primarily on-site with the opportunity for a hybrid arrangement based on performance metrics and training completion

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must be willing to initiate the process to obtain one or more Pharmacist licenses within 90 days of hire/transfer for the following states: AL, AR, IA, ID, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MS, NE, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA & WV.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

What additional requirements you'll need

  • 2–3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist
  • Prior experience in a specialty disease state or therapeutic area strongly preferred
  • Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency highly preferred
  • Exposure to specialty pharmacy rotations during pharmacy school is a plus
  • Experience with direct patient interaction and counseling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a clinical setting
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (e.g., PIC responsibilities) preferred
  • Licensure in other states
