Permitting Manager

An industry-leading infrastructure developer is seeking an experienced Permitting Manager to lead environmental and land-use permitting activities for large-scale capital projects.

This position will be responsible for securing permits and regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support projects from site selection through development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead local, state, and federal permitting efforts for multiple development projects.
  • Develop and implement permitting strategies aligned with project schedules and business objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and manage permit applications, technical studies, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate environmental review activities, including:
  • Wetlands and water resources
  • Threatened and endangered species
  • Cultural and archaeological resources
  • Air quality and environmental compliance
  • Water-use and watershed assessments
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, utility providers, and local authorities.
  • Participate in public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee environmental consultants, engineers, and technical specialists.
  • Support site selection, land-use planning, and development-related activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on project execution.
  • Provide permitting expertise and strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Natural Resources, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of environmental and land-use permitting experience.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local permitting requirements.
  • Experience with environmental review processes, agency coordination, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of permitting frameworks related to natural resources, cultural resources, land use, and environmental protection.
  • Experience managing complex permitting efforts across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, industrial, utility, energy, telecommunications, or mission-critical development projects.
  • Familiarity with site selection and land development processes.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants.
