Job Description:

The Implementation Services Analyst will support the successful delivery of pension administration and system migration projects within client’s Retirement & Benefits Administration practice. This role combines pension operations expertise, structured implementation methodology, data analysis, and system testing to ensure accurate, compliant, and high‑quality outcomes for clients transitioning to or maintaining client's platforms.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on pension administration experience, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable technical specifications. This individual will work closely with project managers, system programmers, testers, and client teams to support smooth delivery across all phases of implementation.


Key Responsibilities

Pension Administration & Operations

  • Perform manual pension benefit calculations using plan rules, regulatory guidelines, and internal calculation methodologies.
  • Process returned election forms and accurately set up participant payment elections in the system.
  • Load and validate pension data (participant info, service, contributions, optional forms, etc.) into MMC systems.
  • Support review and reconciliation of plan data to ensure accuracy prior to conversion or go‑live.

Implementation & Requirements Development

  • Translate business needs and plan specifications into clear, comprehensive requirements for system programmers.
  • Work backward from desired deliverables to define all steps, dependencies, and validations required to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in design sessions and contribute to solution definition, system logic mapping, and process workflows.
  • Review system outputs to ensure they align with requirements, plan rules, and client expectations.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop complete test strategies and test plans from the ground up, ensuring coverage of both standard and edge‑case scenarios.
  • Mine source data to create test cases and construct additional scenarios when data is missing or incomplete.
  • Execute system testing, UAT, and regression testing, documenting results and identifying defects, break‑points, and system inconsistencies.
  • Work collaboratively with developers and implementation managers to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Project Management Support

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of system migration and conversion projects.
  • Track tasks, risks, timelines, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Assist with go‑live readiness, cutover activities, and post‑implementation support.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Ask thoughtful, clarifying questions to ensure shared understanding across business and technical teams.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with team members, project leads, and client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong learning agility, quickly absorbing new systems, processes, and plan designs.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of pension administration experience (non‑actuarial, non–call center).
  • Proven experience completing manual pension calculations, participant payment setup, and pension data processing.
  • Strong background in implementation or system requirements development, preferably in a benefits or retirement environment.
  • Hands‑on testing experience including test plan creation, scenario development, data mining, and defect management.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating system migration or data conversion projects.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and ask effective questions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with pension platforms or similar large‑scale administration systems.
  • Familiarity with ERISA, plan documents, and retirement plan regulations.
  • Experience working in consulting or client‑service environments.
