Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist

Cleveland Clinic Children's is recruiting for a pediatric gastroenterologist with specific expertise in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology to join the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Cleveland Clinic Children's.

The successful applicant should be board-certified in both pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric transplant hepatology. The ideal candidate for this Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist position would be an early- or mid-career candidate who is interested in long-term leadership opportunities within our Pediatric Liver Care Center. Special consideration will be given to candidates with an interest in metabolic liver disease and/or established track records in clinical or translational research.

The Pediatric Liver Care Center within our Division includes four board – certified pediatric transplant hepatologists (including Cleveland Clinic leadership: Pediatric Medical Subspecialties Chair, Dr. Karen Murray), who work in a multidisciplinary fashion with members of our Pediatric General Surgery and Adult Liver Transplant Surgery to take care of the gamut of pediatric patients with liver disease. We have an active pediatric liver transplant program with excellent clinical outcomes, performing all types of pediatric liver transplantation, including robust living related donor and anonymous living donor programs. In addition, we have an active small bowel and multi-visceral transplantation program.

The Pediatric Liver Care Center is part of our well-established, highly collegial, and nationally recognized team of fourteen pediatric gastroenterologists who care for pediatric and young adult patients with gastrointestinal disorders at the main outpatient campus in Cleveland, along with several satellite locations and family health centers serving the region. Our Division has designated disease - specific nurse care coordinators and ambulatory nurses, along with our pediatric dietitians and a supportive administrative team within our Division. In addition, we partner closely with dedicated GI psychologists (four) and pediatric social workers.

Other established multidisciplinary programs in our Division include those focused on IBD, metabolic/glycogen storage diseases, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EGID), aerodigestive care (PCAVS), neurogastroenterology/GI motility, and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Primary nutritional programs include intestinal rehabilitation and advanced nutritional support with an established multidisciplinary care team.

Our Children's Hospital has a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite including advanced endoscopy (ERCP) and a motility lab featuring high-resolution equipment within the Pediatric Outpatient Center. We also have a dedicated pediatric infusion center within the Pediatric Outpatient Center. There is an active inpatient GI service providing care for our patients at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital on Main Campus. In addition to clinical care responsibilities, members of the Division engage in research (clinical, basic science, and translational research), quality and patient safety initiatives, and medical school and residency education. We have a highly competitive fellowship program that graduates two fellows each year. Academic affiliation and teaching appointments are available with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine/Case Western Reserve University. We actively collaborate clinically and scientifically with adult GI clinicians and researchers within the Digestive Disease Institute (DDI) and Cleveland Clinic Research.

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE.
