FlexStaff is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work for one of our external clients, a city health system, at their pediatric ambulatory clinic, located in Brooklyn, NY.
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9:00AM – 5:00PM (alternating Saturdays)
This job will be in an ambulatory setting providing pediatric immunizations.
Requirements:
- Valid LPN/LVN license in good standing for NYS.
- BLS Certification from AHA
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma or certificate).
- Typical experience: 1–2 years of clinical nursing preferred; ambulatory/outpatient experience often preferred.
- Must be comfortable with peds immunizations.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the physician in treatments and procedures
- Monitoring of patient's vital signs, patient intake and output, and recording patient history
- Reports data relating to patient's health status to appropriate clinical staff
- Identifies patient goals, communicates, and collaborates with clinical team to support patient care plan
- Administration of medication, injections and functions in the scope of the license
- Cleaning of equipment in patient care areas
- Maintain patient care rooms to ensure they are kept clean, and supplies are well stocked.
- Maintain records of patient activities and observations
- Submit records to the appropriate clinical staff regarding patient's condition
- Assist with scheduling patients, authorizations and referrals to support office staff as needed
- Cross-cover multiple practices
- Rooming patients
- Overseeing patient flow
