Job Title: Payloads Design Engineer (Associate)

Location: North Charleston, SC (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6-Month Contract | 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

Rate: $62/hr. on W2

seeking an Associate Payloads Design Engineer to join the Interiors Responsibility Center in North Charleston, SC. The role will support the design, development, and integration of aircraft interior payload systems including stow bins, closets, partitions, wiring, and light-limiting headers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements.
• Support testing and validation activities to ensure systems meet design specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to optimize product design.
• Provide support to the production floor during complex builds or first-of installations.
• Develop and modify payload system designs using 3D CAD tools.
• Contribute to process improvements and evaluation of new technologies for future aircraft designs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 2+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor, or similar.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering or production teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Aerospace design and engineering release process experience.
• Knowledge of FAA Part 25 or EASA regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
