Rogers Group is seeking motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Equipment Operators with previous paving experience for our Construction Team in Cookeville, TN.
JOB DETAILS
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and other related equipment as assigned.
Assist with asphalt paving operations including placement, compaction, and finishing of hot mix asphalt.
Follow all Rogers Group safety policies, procedures, and job site safety plans at all times.
Conduct pre-operation equipment inspections and immediately report safety or mechanical concerns.
Maintain awareness of crew members, traffic, and job site hazards to prevent incidents.
Work closely with foremen and crew members to ensure proper mat quality, grade, and surface smoothness.
Perform handwork, shoveling, raking, and other labor duties as needed to support paving operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in asphalt paving or construction equipment operation preferred.
Strong understanding of job site safety practices and hazard awareness.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Willingness to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred where applicable.
Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends.
Actively participate in daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
Stop work and report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and model safe behavior.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
Ability to safely climb on and off equipment throughout the workday.
