Join our team as a Police Sergeant dedicated to proactive, community-focused policing. This role performs full patrol officer duties while supervising sworn and non-sworn staff to ensure effective delivery of law enforcement and emergency services.
Duties include, but not limited to:
•Directly supervise sworn and non-sworn personnel within the Department.
•Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with City policies, departmental procedures, and applicable laws.
•Train, mentor, and develop employees; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; provide coaching and corrective action; foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
•Perform routine patrol functions and participate in investigations as needed.
•Respond to calls for service, including critical incidents, provide on-scene leadership.
Minimum Qualifications: Three years of progressive patrol experience, Licensed Minnesota P.O.S.T. licensure. Degree in criminal justice or related field is required.
Desirable Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field. Two years municipal experience. Previous experience as a Sergeant.
