Patient Intake Coordinator $27/hr

Location: Hematology Oncology & GYN Oncology Departments

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $23-$27/hr, based on experience

About the Role

A leading cancer center is seeking two detail‑oriented and patient‑focused Patient Intake Coordinators to support its Hematology Oncology and GYN Oncology departments. This role functions as a Clinical Secretary, working both behind the scenes and at the reception desk to ensure smooth patient flow in a fast‑paced medical environment.

You will manage high call volumes, coordinate patient scheduling, triage calls to clinical staff, and maintain accurate patient records in Epic. You will also support front‑desk operations by checking patients in and out.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of patient and provider calls
• Register new and returning patients in Epic
• Schedule and coordinate appointments using Epic Cadence
• Triage calls to medical staff, testing centers, and appropriate departments
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
• Check patients in and out at the reception desk
• Provide administrative support to clinical teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with patient registration, medical scheduling, or clinical office operations
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills
• Comfort handling high call volumes

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Epic Cadence experience
• Prior experience in oncology or specialty care
• Familiarity with triage workflows
• Experience in a cancer center or high‑acuity clinical setting

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, CT.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
